Trials period: Week 6 and Recess Week (17th to 28th September 2012)

9 sessions will be conducted over Week 6 and Recess Week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. 
For Week 6 trials, all sessions start at 7pm.
For Recess Week trials, there will be two sessions per day - at 5pm and 7pm. 
However, on the online form, please select ALL the session timings you are able to make for. 

All shooters are expected to shoot a minimum of 3 sessions (maximum 4) for the trials. The best 3 scores would be taken into consideration when choosing team members. 

Please take note that the cost of 3 sessions and 4 sessions of $10 and $12 respectively will apply.

Registration for trials will close on 13th September 2012 (Thursday) at 1800H.

Every year, the teamNUS Shooting team conducts its trials late September / Early October so as to recruit new shooters into the team. It also give an opportunity for current team members to assess their own standards. More importantly, it provides an avenue for us to discover hidden potential from the inexperienced shooters. 

Team Format

The NUS Shooting Team is divided into 2 teams:

1. Varsity Team

  • Max. of 6 members per gender per discipline
  • Shooting logistics provided; certain training fees can be claimed
  • Could be allocated school weapons
  • Entry Criteria:
    • Trials scores must meet min. standard
    • If there are insufficient shooters who met the standard, the team will be left unfilled
    • If there are more than 6 shooters who met the standard, the top 6 shooters will be inducted into the team
2. Training Team
  • No limit on no. of members
  • Target cards and pellets provided for members (subjected to availability from Varsity team logistics)
  • Will train together with Varsity team under the same Coach
  • Not recognised by NUS
  • If there are insufficient Varsity team members, training team members could still be inducted into Varsity team if they met the required standard after trainings
  • Entry Criteria:
    • Must have attempted trials
    • Willing to commit their time to training as per the Varsity team
    • Subjected to Coach's decision

Trials Format

  1. Shooters will be engaged in a full competition shoot during each trials session
    2. Discipline Category No. of shots Time Limit
    Air Pistol Mens 60 1h 45mins
    Womens 40 1h 15mins
    Air Rifle Mens 60 1h 45mins
    Womens 40 1h 15mins
  2. Shooters must shoot min. 3 sessions and max. 4 sessions for trials
  3. An average will be calculated from the 3 best scores
